Homelessness

I just read, with dismay, about the number of tent cities that are cropping up all over the country now. They are filled with people who have either lost a job or who moved to a city in hopes of finding a job, only to learn that none were available. This reminds me of old news footage of the homeless around the country during the Depression.

If you have any kind of roof over your head now and can pay your bills, count yourself blessed. Still, it behooves us to try to do better in our lives and pass along some blessings to others. Whether you are starting an IT job search or are trying to start your own business, do so while keeping in mind that "there, but for the grace of God" go you. Show some compassion. Give to local shelters of your time and your abundance. Pass along some of the gifts you've been blessed with so that others may also be blessed.

You and I are on the same wavelength. I blogged this morning about some good news for Hawaii's homeless. My signature link will take you to the post.

Thanks for stopping by, Skeet. It really concerns me that so many people are or are about to become homeless in this day and age. This country has weathered some mighty tough times in the past, but I don't think any of us thought we'd go through that sort of loss again.
